I founded SaaSCompete to help B2B SaaS startups, SMBs, and mid-market companies gain a clear understanding of their competitive landscape without breaking the bank. While larger enterprise companies can afford in-house analysts with six-figure salaries, smaller SaaS teams often lack the time, resources, or capacity to build that level of competitive awareness. SaaSCompete exists to close that gap. We provide cost-effective, focused, and high-quality competitive intelligence to the companies that need it most. By taking a holistic approach, we help our clients understand the full scope of their competitive environment and deliver actionable insights that support real strategic growth. 

After years of conducting market research and competitive analysis exclusively for B2B SaaS companies, I noticed a consistent trend. Many teams, regardless of size, had little to no structured knowledge of their competition. They often operated with outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate information, which directly impacted their ability to win competitive deals. I also observed a common focus on pricing models in isolation, without understanding how pricing relates to value capture, packaging, messaging, and long-term growth. In an increasingly competitive and fast-moving SaaS environment, regular competitive analysis is not a luxury. It is a strategic necessity.

Many SaaS teams need strategic competitive insight but lack the time, resources, or internal expertise to produce it consistently. Hiring a full-time analyst is often out of reach, and most consultants in this space come with high price tags and inflexible retainers. Automated competitive intelligence platforms are another option, but they are often expensive and rely on AI to pull insights from sales call recordings, which can miss important context and nuance. I often describe competitive analysis as solving an intricate puzzle. You have to find the pieces yourself, without knowing what the final picture looks like until it comes into focus. It is not something taught in school. True expertise is developed through real-world experience, continuous iteration, and a deep understanding of how strategy, behavior, and how information interact in the marketplace. The analyst’s job is to locate and interpret scattered, often conflicting information, filter out the noise, and shape it into a clear, actionable view of the competitive landscape. This is why it is critical that the analyst be experienced, thoughtful, and able to translate complexity into insight.

Over the past several years, I have conducted competitive analysis across hundreds of companies in a wide range of industries and SaaS segments, including startups, SMBs, mid-market organizations, and enterprise firms. This broad exposure has given me a deep understanding of how company size, growth stage, and market dynamics influence competitive strategy. I hold two master’s degrees, one in psychology and one in business, and bring years of applied research experience in behavioral science. This background informs how I interpret data, understand buyer behavior, and deliver insights that are both strategic and practical.
